Cleveland Way
Start 19/04/2017 Filey Brigg
Finish 24/04/2017 Helmsley
Distance 110miles/177km

I rested overnight in my tent upon finishing the Yorkshire Wolds Way, my fourteenth National Trail, and emerged from my tent in the morning to begin the Cleveland Way.
As is always the case, where there is vehicular access to the countryside, the masses from towns and cities turn up, and leave their rubbish behind. The first couple of miles from Filey Country Park was no exception, and it was so bad, I felt strongly enough to stop and send an email to the National Trail Manager.
After that initial disappointment, things could only improve. And they did. The weather was kind and the views were fantastic.
Nights alternated between campsites and wild camping, using the Youth Hostel garden in Helmsley at the end of the final day.
Fifteen National Trails completed and a Gold certificate from the LDWA. Cue Spandau Ballet.
