Glyndwr's Way

Start 01/06/2014 Knighton Clock Tower

Finish 09/06/2014 Welshpool

Distance 135miles/237km

When an employment opportunity as a walking guide in the Dolomites fell through, I headed to Knighton. I'd probably done the least amount of planning for this one compared to the other trails because I'd set off on the spur of a moment.

It's a great walk through mid-Wales. True farming country. Green fields dotted with sheep.

By chance, I passed the library in Machynlleth and decided to call in and check my emails. Another travel company I'd applied to work for (in France to improve my language skills), had been trying to call me, but with hardly any signal in these parts, my phone had been switched off most of the time. I called them back and after half an hour or so, had a job offer at their centre in Spain. They were happy for me to finish my walk before heading off to the Costa Brava.

From mountaineer to beach bum...
