Pembrokeshire Coast Path
Start 20/08/2011 Amroth
Finish 02/09/2011 St Dogmaels
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can best be described as a shorter version of the South West Coast Path. Stunning!
The only consideration when planning this walk was the potential lack of camping options in the built-up Milford Haven/Pembroke Dock area. I chose the campsite at Windmill Hill, so that I had sufficient time on the days before and after, to navigate the estuary. For the rest of the route, I found wild camping spots, and stopped at a campsite every few nights for a welcome hot shower, all marked on the map below.
From St Dogmaels, I continued for a further 64miles/97km along the Cardigan Coast to Ynys-Las, then retraced the last few miles back to Aberystwyth to catch a train home.
Following the completion of this, my fifth National Trail, I gained entry into the Long Distance Walkers Association’s Register of National Trail Walkers at Bronze level.
